POP Kids - Children's Ministry at Prince of Peace

September 10th - May 20th, 2018

Being part of a great story is something we all long for...have you ever finished reading a wonderful book, and wished you could have been part of the story? We have that longing, because deep down we know we are part of the greatest story...God's Story!

We desire for all kids to know God's story, to see how he has worked through HIS story, and where each one of us fits into it.

What is POP Kids?

POP Kids is the name of our Children's Ministry at Prince of Peace. We desire that each child will grow in knowing God, not just knowing about God. Our hope is that they see their story in God’s Big Story, and understand how God has been working all through His-story to bring us back into relationship with Him.

What ages can participate?

POP Kids is for children age 3 through 5th grade. Young children need to be three-years-old by the start of the ministry year.

Parents and POP Kids

It’s been a long held fallacy that you at home are supporting the work we are doing at church with your kids. It’s not true, and it’s certainly not Biblical! We have one hour a week with your kids; you have 167. Who has the biggest influence on their child’s spiritual development? YOU DO!

POP Kids exists to support the work that you are already doing in your homes to raise your kids to be followers of Christ. We know it’s not easy, especially with the world pulling our kids away from God. We are here to support you, to encourage you, and to give you resources to help you on your journey. Our POP Kids small groups give your kids a community where they can share their faith journey with their peers. You need to be involved in the community as well! What better way to have our children fall in love with Jesus than for us to be living testimonies of what that means? One thing is true in spiritual parenting: you can’t give away what you don’t have!

Updates for Ministry year 2017-18

When families enter the building on Sunday morning, they are immediately met by the POP Kids Check-In team. Check in is super easy and quick, and students are quickly on their way to their age specific classrooms. Shortly after 9AM, all classes gather in room 9 to participate in a time of music, prayer, and teaching. This is where the lesson for the day is presented in a variety of ways; storytelling, skits, videos. Students then return to their classrooms to process what they learned through age appropriate activities. Our lessons closely follow the Big Idea theme that is also carried through weekend worship. Everyone in the family is learning the same thing, which makes continuing the conversation at home that much easier!

To get involved in POP Kids, all you need to do is show up. POP Kids is on Sunday mornings during the 9AM service. We’ll help you find the right class for your kids, and get them settled for the morning’s lesson. You don’t need to be a member of Prince of Peace for your kids to attend POP Kids.
